Customer Experience Marketing Research Executive

Kelly Hewett joined Bank of America in May 2008 after a 14-year career in academia and five years in marketing research. Most recently, she was at the University of South Carolina where she taught in the Moore School of Business. At Bank of America, Kelly works in the Customer Experience Marketing Research team, where she draws heavily on both her academic and professional research experience. Since joining BAC, Kelly has focused on synergizing research from sources across the bank, providing insights for the Consumer Experience Team and the CSBB Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs organizations as well as others. Drawing on her teaching experience, Kelly is also participating in the development of courses for the College of Marketing, housed within Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs, and will be teaching courses on marketing strategy and marketing research. In addition, Kelly has recently joined the BAC team working with the Center for Future Banking at MIT, and will be working with faculty and students in the Media Lab on projects related to banking issues.

Her academic research and teaching interests lie primarily in the area of global marketing strategy. She has published numerous articles in areas such as the impact of national culture on buyer-seller relationships, the strategic use of marketing information, and the ability of global firms to leverage marketing experiences of sub units worldwide. She has published her research in refereed journals including the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and the Journal of Management Studies among others. She has taught courses on international marketing, customer satisfaction management, marketing strategy, and marketing research. As a marketing research consultant, Kelly’s primary emphasis was on the measurement and management of customer satisfaction across global markets, and in product development and concept testing. She has worked with client firms including Motorola, IBM, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, the Port Authority of NY and NJ. Kelly holds a Ph.D. in Marketing and International Business.
