Marc B. Keller Executive-in-Residence, Bank of America |
Marc B. Keller is a Senior Vice President of Consumer Banking Transformation at Bank of America, and an Executive-in-Residence at MIT’s Center for Future Banking. He works on business development and strategy to determine Bank of America’s new business models and strategic approaches to consumer finance across the BAC enterprise, including emerging payments and mobile commerce initiatives. At MIT, Marc also advises the Next Billion effort to expand financial services via mobile telephony to the underserved both in the US and in the developing world.
Mr. Keller joined the bank in 2008, after spending over 6 years working with the boutique consulting and venture catalyst group, Southland Partners, in New York City, which he founded in 2002. Marc’s work with Southland Partners was focused on both emerging and alternative (under-banked) payments companies, products, and customer segments. Marc has worked in principal investing, corporate strategy, and operational roles in these payments companies.
Prior to that, Marc worked as a strategy consultant for The Boston Consulting Group in both the New York City and Mexico City offices.
Marc started his career as a Brand Manager for Nabisco International in Mexico City, Mexico, and later founded a promotions and licensing company serving large multi-national consumer goods companies across Latin America.
Marc earned an MBA from Columbia University, as well as a BBA and a BA from the University of Texas at Austin. Marc is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Portuguese. He now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and two young children.
My goal is to expand financial services to the underserved, and increase economic development in local and developing economies by leveraging mobile telephony while increasing revenue pools for the financial-services industry.
